Volcanic plume from the Kasatochi eruption, Alaska. This volcano is located in the Aleutian Islands. It erupted on August 7, 2008 creating a sulfur dioxide gas and volcanic ash cloud. Seismic activity and volcanic unrest was still being detected on August 13, 2008.
